About the founder

Ashley Ramgolam didn’t inherit a multi-generational apiary; she built her passion from the ground up. As a first-generation beekeeper, Ashley’s journey began in 2021 with a profound mission: To protect and preserve the natural world.

Splitting her time between the fast-paced energy of New York City and the rolling landscapes of Nashville, Ashley bridges the gap between urban life and rural conservation. She understands that no matter where we live, our ecosystem relies on the tireless work of pollinators.

For Ashley, beekeeping is an ethical commitment. Driven by uncompromising sustainability standards, she ensures every hive is managed with the utmost respect for the bees. By putting colony health first, she harvests a premium, high-quality product that is as pure as nature intended—proving that true luxury is always sustainably made.

Our commitment to sustainability

At BzKneez Honey, our mission is to heal the planet through regenerative beekeeping. By prioritizing bee health over production, restoring native biodiversity, and partnering with local farms to revitalize the land, we transform every jar of honey into a catalyst for a wilder, more vibrant ecosystem.

What is Regenerative Beekeeping?

BzKneez practices regenerative beekeeping, which means prioritizing the health of the bees and the environment over how much honey can be harvested. BzKneez focuses on restoring their habitat by planting diverse wildflowers and avoiding harsh chemicals, allowing the colony to thrive naturally.

The goal is to ensure that this work doesn't just sustain the land, but actually leaves the entire ecosystem healthier than it was found. BzKneez harvests only a 20% to 30% surplus, leaving the remaining 70% to 80% for the bees' own winter survival. This "nature-first" approach actively heals the ecosystem rather than just sustaining it.

What is "raw" honey exactly?

BzKneez “Raw” honey is unheated and unpasteurized. This preserves the natural enzymes, antioxidants, and pollen that are often removed from "store-bought" honey.

How is raw honey beneficial?

Raw honey is a natural powerhouse, containing over 200 beneficial compounds, including vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, that support heart and brain health. Unlike processed honey, it retains "live" enzymes that aid digestion and act as a prebiotic, fueling your immune system's beneficial gut bacteria. Its natural antibacterial properties also make it an effective remedy for soothing sore throats and supporting skin healing. By avoiding high heat, raw honey delivers the full medicinal strength of the hive in its purest form.
